A history of winning
We’ve won wage increases to redistribute money from billionaires to everyday working people.
We won a historic financial assistance fund for tens of thousands of laid-off Toys 'R' Us employees.
Across the country, we’ve won hours we can count on for close to two million working families.
Toys 'R' Us Employees win $20 million
Wall Street has caused countless retail bankruptcies, leaving millions of working people without jobs and without severance pay. Tens of thousands of Toys R Us employees made history by winning a $20 million financial assistance fund from the private equity companies that owned the toy store.
Walmart raises wages for its massive workforce of 1.5 million employees
In 2018, we successfully pressured Walmart to raise starting pay to $11/hr. As the largest retailer in the country, these victories at Walmart have rippled across the industry – and we’re continuing to fight for living wages for $15/hr and real raises for long-term associates.
Fair workweek protections for millions of working people
Too many of us are working too few hours to make ends meet with no say in their schedules. Last year, the Fair Workweek Initiative had a historic win when 12 retailers committed to providing stable workweeks for employees. Today, almost 2 million workers have peace of mind about their work and family schedules.
