Wall Street has caused countless retail bankruptcies, leaving millions of working people without jobs and without severance pay. Tens of thousands of Toys R Us employees made history by winning a $20 million financial assistance fund from the private equity companies that owned the toy store.

In 2018, we successfully pressured Walmart to raise starting pay to $11/hr. As the largest retailer in the country, these victories at Walmart have rippled across the industry – and we’re continuing to fight for living wages for $15/hr and real raises for long-term associates.

Fair workweek protections for millions of working people

Last year, the Fair Workweek Initiative had a historic win when 12 retailers committed to providing stable workweeks for employees.
