Why memes

Memes are a fun way to talk about what’s happening in your communities and a popular way for people to cope with stressful situations.

Follow this guide to learn how to make funny and contagious memes that are simple, relatable, and relevant!

Rules to Creating a Meme

KIS: Keep it simple!

Your meme should be easy to understand.

Make sure to use legible fonts and try to avoid adding too much text.

Know your audience

Use lingo that your intended audience can relate to.

Try not to single out a class of people. Think about race, gender, experience.

Keep it current

Check social media platforms to see what others are posting and how they are performing to give you ideas on what to create.

Popular memes will have a lot of at least one of the following:

  •  Likes/upvotes
  • Comments
  • Shares
